John Bjorn Thorbjarnarson (March 23, 1957 – February 14, 2010)[1] was a crocodilia conservationist known for helping rescue numerous species from the brink of extinction.
Thorbjarnarson studied biology at Cornell University, graduating in 1979. He went on to earn a PhD from the University of Florida.
He died[2] in hospital after he collapsed suddenly in India on February 14, 2010. Initial diagnosis pointed to advanced falciparum malaria.
